D.I.Y. Chamomile Fungicide Spray

Chamomile Fungicide Spray

Chamomile has high sulfur content which is a main base for many fungicides. This D.I.Y. spray will help prevent damping off disease which is caused by several types of soil borne fungus. This disease can cause the seedlings to fall over, produce weak stems and roots, then eventually death.  The disease can also affect pre-emerging seedlings. To make your own chamomile fungal spray you will need (this mixture will last up to one week):

1 chamomile tea bag

2 cups of boiling water

1 spray bottle

1 heat-proof glass bowl

Pour boiling water over a chamomile tea bag and let it steep for ten minutes in the bowl. Remove the tea bag and let the cool. Once cooled, pour the tea in the spray bottle.

You can presoak your seeds before sowing or simply spray the soil when starting your seedlings and again If you notice any white fuzz on top of your seedlings soil.
